Cynthia Kozmary, MFT, LADC, has over 14 years experience as a psychotherapist specializing in individual, couples, and family therapy as well as alcohol and drug addictions.
As a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Cindy's areas of expertise are anxiety and stress, depression, self-esteem issues, alcohol and drug abuse, chronic medical problems including chronic pain, couples counseling, divorce counseling, pre-marital counseling, OCD disorders, grief counseling and anger management.
In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Cindy has served as a guest speaker at UNLV to MFT graduate students. She is certified in Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, having trained with Dr. William Glasser. She has several years experience in running substance abuse groups as well as pain managment groups. Other areas of specialized experience included her work with the Veteran's Village in San Diego, CA, United States Probation Dept., the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Las Vegas court systems. During her internship she gained specialized training with children while working at a children's behavioral center. She was a registered nurse at the University of California, San Francisco before moving to Las Vegas thirty four years ago.
As a former Registered Nurse, clients feel free to share their medical, pharmaceutical and sexual history. Her approach is holistic in nature as she strives to integrate the psychological, social, spiritual and biological components of individuals for a better understanding of where they have been and where they want to go. Before becoming licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, she worked at her church as a lay counselor, giving her many years of experience in this helping profession.
Cindy has been married to her husband Steve for 35 years, and has three adult children. She has a passion for helping others and enjoys seeing her clients every day. You will find her non-judgmental, highly skilled, competent and easy to talk to. She looks forward to meeting you.
